  Story

Govinda says:

I was raise orthodox Jewish. At about age 15 I started to question. It seemed there were many contradictions in my religion. I was frustrated that I couldn't even ask any questions concerning my doubts. So much fear. No one to share with. There was no real heart there. Just prayers for this and that. By rote. Do it and get it over with. Was this religion? I needed something more of the mystical.

So I became a "seeker". Started reading many different books. Philosophy, Zen, Yoga etc. I picked whatever resonated with me. In a way I created my own religion. Except it is more of a philosophy. I was looking for TRUTH. I saw I was actually seeking happiness. A contentment. I know now that Infinite Bliss is the goal of human beings. Not only is it possible, it is our finally achievement. We are all God and we're here to experience that truth.

There are many tools available to us to get us to know the TRUTH. Meditation, knowledge, service,Yoga, Kabala, Buddhism, Taoism, Sufism, and reading all the self help authors like Wayne Dyer, Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra.

Most religion is filled with preachers who maintain their jobs by fire and brimstone and fearing us with Hell. I've come to see there can be healthy aspects to religion but a small percent. But religion is not necessary and in most cases is burden.

My main path is the Yoga philosophy. My current teacher is Amma and info on her can be found at www.amma.org. For anyone who'd like talk with me I can reached at *Removed*. All the best to all of God's children.
