I was raised Catholic, but started questioning the church when I was about 10. It didn't make sense to me that there were all these different religions that believed different things, but somehow my family knew which one was right. So I kept questioning it and was as sure as I could be at 14 that I was atheist. Then my grandpa died. I had never lost anyone before. Sitting through his Catholic funeral service made me question everything I believed all over again. At this point I was old enough for Confirmation and I told my parents that I wasn't going to be confirmed because I wasn't Catholic. I was agnostic. My parents weren't happy. As far as I know, I'm the only person in my entire extended family that doesn't believe in some sort of Christianity. I don't believe in God, but I'm not sure that there is no God either. I guess I believe in the possibility, and that I will never know for sure. I don't believe in religion, but I believe in faith. Faith is extremely powerful and can do extraordinary things if it's used in the right ways.
