  Story

Zane says:

I was raised by my grandparents to be a Christian and would always get me involved in Church camps and activities. Due to my disability I was somewhat isolated from society and was very slow in learning society's controversial issues and etc. After my grandpa passed away, the family stopped going to church for awhile and I started reading the Bible on my own. When my family first found out I was gay, they took away alot of things that cut me off from the outside world. I still read the Bible and try to comfort other LGBT Christians even without a family or friends to back me up. Even when other Christians saw me and threatened to take my life, I still believed God loves all His creatures on Earth and continued to follow God whether it was helping the needy or letting other know of His Word. Eventually I got into a relationship, kept secret from family, with another Christian LGBT man. Several months later I get a call that my boyfriend was one of several shot in a drive-by shooting at an LGBT bar. Thankfully it had only been frozen paintballs and God kept him alive, but everyday I am still sad because I cannot say the same of all the shooting victims. Ever since then I've been trying to spread God's word of love and tolerance, trying to soften the harden hearts of people one by one. If you are LGBT, or anyone who wants assurance that God loves you, then look no further than the Bible and you. God loves you just like He loves every person and creature on Earth, and the people that truly follow Him will show love, tolerance, righteousness, and everything that is good. Do not let those who sow anger and hatred discourage you in life, because there will always be people who try to bring you down. Whatever you may believe in, never lose faith in yourself. Try to make the world a better place, sometimes a simple gesture goes a long way.
