I was raised conservative christian. i was homeschooled k-12 and went to a christian college. the whole deal, man. when i had my faith, i imagined losing it would be a terrible, traumatic thing. little did i know how much of a relief it would be to no longer believe the creator of the universe who died for me could read my thoughts. i don't completely regret all the principles that were instilled in me from the church, but you can get those principles a lot of different ways and not get fucked in the head thinking that people are going to hell for eternity and you would too if jesus wasn't in your heart. believe me, it sucks going years believing jesus is the only thing that can save you from eternity in hell - and worrying he isn't there for you...because deep down you know - you're alone.
